Jon Sampson lived a life rooted in love, loyalty, and laughter. A devoted husband, a proud father, and a deeply cherished grandfather, Jon's greatest joy came from the family he helped build and the memories they shared together.

A lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Jon never missed a game. Sundays were sacred – filled with football, snacks, and passionate cheers (and a few colorful words for the refs). But more than the touchdowns and victories, it was the time spent together that he valued most.

One Thanksgiving, Jon decided to deep-fry the turkey—after watching half a YouTube video. Wearing his lucky Dallas Cowboys apron, he dropped the bird in…and instantly created an oil explosion big enough to alarm the neighbors.

The turkey barely made it. The apron didn’t. But Jon? He just grinned and said, “Still the juiciest bird in Texas,” and made everyone eat it anyway.

Granpaw

One Christmas, Jon proudly declared he had “mastered texting.” Later that night, the grandkids all got a message that said:

“Merry Christmoose! Love, Granpaw 🤠🐮🔥”

When they asked what the emojis meant, Jon shrugged and said, “I just hit whatever looked festive.” He’d accidentally sent a cowboy, a cow, and a fire.

From then on, the grandkids called him Granpaw Moo-Moo, and he absolutely loved it.

He may be gone, but his legacy lives on in the laughter at family dinners, the echo of “How 'bout them Cowboys!” during the game, and the quiet strength he instilled in everyone he loved.
